Tree Lighting Ceremony at The Armed Forces Retirement Home

"Life, it seems, will always slow...for dreams of Christmas long ago." - Joe Geis, Resident of AFRH

Christmas carols, conversations with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, musical entertainment, and a beautiful tree lighting ceremony were all very much a part of the annual Armed Forces Retirement Home, "Tree Lighting Ceremony" that was celebrated the evening of December 4th.

It was a special treat for me to enjoy the Tree Lighting festivities alongside my friends who are residents of The Armed Forces Home-especially those veterans that are members of my book club.  Some of my literary pals were part of the Home's holiday chorus and entertained the audience with lovely Christmas carols and their holiday spirit.

For several hours, the residents of the Armed Forces Retirement Home, their families, guests, and the staff members of AFRH paused their daily schedules to celebrate the season of giving and the joys of family and friendship.

Most grateful,
