Reading Buddy Programs

Recently, a family member living in Middletown, Ohio, reached out to me with a kind and greatly appreciated story.  Justin Leiwig, my cousin shared a photo and a journal entry that his son Jacob had created following a "Reading Buddy Activity" that took place during school hours at Jacob's place of learning.  "Reading Buddy Programs" are such valuable activities that often times facilitate extended learning.  Jacob chose one of my books, "Hearts Always Open" to read with his Kindergarten Reading Buddy, and to creatively facilitate an activity that I had included in this particular book.  I loved that Jacob selected "Hearts Always Open" to share, as this book speaks to volunteerism, generosity of spirit, and activities across the generations.  Enjoy reading Jacob's delightful journal entry and the photo that he shared with me.  ❤️📚
