The school library at John Adams Elementary School, Alexandria, Virginia, was "glowing" during their February 14 & 15 Reading Is Fundamental Book Distribution. The theme, "For The Love of Reading" for this bigger than life literacy initiative, was evident throughout the entire Media Center at John Adams Elementary.
Fifth Grade Students displayed their remarkable projects that were based on their favorite book, First and Second Grade Students created festive bookmarks to accompany their new book, and local guest author Michael Roberson read and dialogued with the students of John Adams.RIF of NOVA liaison, Tsion Bezu and her team of wonderful volunteers have made an impact on the lives of the entire John Adams School Community for the past several years by orchestrating such memorable literacy activities and all the while promoting the extraordinary art of learning.
As a Board member of Reading Is Fundamental of Northern Virginia, I have the distinct pleasure to be a part of the RIF Book Distributions at our designated RIF of NOVA sites in the Northern Virginia Area...I have so much fun! Observing students engaged in selecting "the just right" book that they in turn take home to keep for a lifetime is most inspiring.
