Glenna's Book Club At AFRH 2020....Looking Ahead To Reading And Discussing Extraordinary Literature.

January, 2020 at The Armed Forces Retirement Home, Washington, D.C. has given our weekly book club the opportunity to discuss two extraordinary books-"All The Light We Cannot See," by Anthony Doerr and "Leadership In Turbulent Times," by Doris Kearns Goodwin.

Pulitzer Prize winner, "All The Light We Cannot See," is a captivating book...the writing is incredible, and the descriptions so vivid. The author, Anthony Doerr, beautifully wove together the loving relationships and the way the characters touched each other's lives during the tumultuous times of WWII. Glenna's Book Club had much to discuss about this exceptional read!

"Leadership In Turbulent Times," a Pulitzer Prize Winner written by Doris Kearns Goodwin, takes its readers through the lives of the four presidents she has studied most closely-Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Lyndon B. Johnson, to show how they recognized leadership qualities within themselves and were recognized as leaders by others. This present read has captivated our book club right from the start.

Glenna's Book Club at AFRH is off and running with inspiring and intriguing reads and lively discussions. We are looking forward to a year of reading many wonderful books!

Most grateful,

Glenna C. Orr (Reading Specialist & Director of The Kind Kids Organization)
