What is an intergenerational program?

Intergenerational programs are volunteer programs of activities between students and senior residents of retirement centers, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. These programs are enjoyed by students, their families and their senior friends. They bring joy and a strong sense of community to all of the participants.

The Kind Kids Organization

Kind Kids instills volunteerism in community activities and promoted reading with the students. The program routinely consists of students and seniors reading together, working on crafts, singing songs, sharing stories of life experiences and simply having fun together. Students learn the value of volunteering by helping those who have a more restricted life while seniors share their many years of knowledge and enjoy the vibrant energy of youth. The Kind Kids organization is a non-profit organization located in Arlington, Virginia.
